Wu style Taijiquan was started by Wu Yuxiang (1812-1880) from Guangfu Town, Yongnian prefecture, Hebei province. Wu was a member of an influential family and was well educated.
Wu style Taijiquan is famous for its small frame - xiaojia - postures being relatively high and compact. But we normally start from medium frame, and small frame is the advanced practice.
Zhai Weichuan is regarded as one of the top successors of Wu style. He is president of China Yongnian Yu Xiang Tai Chi Chuan Institute, based in the Home Town of The Old Wu style - Guangfu.
